CellularFamily

Enum CellularFamily

Source
pub enum CellularFamily {
    LifeLike,
    LargerThanLife,
    Cyclic,
}
Expand description

Which rule space the automaton runs (ADR-0180 rule 1).

Variants§

§

LifeLike

Birth and survival as two bitmasks over the eight-neighbour count — Conway’s Life and every rule in its space.

§

LargerThanLife

Birth and survival as two intervals over the filled fraction of a box of side 2 * radius + 1 — Evans’s Larger than Life, whose rules carry travelling bugs and blobs where a radius-1 rule settles.

§

Cyclic

The cyclic automaton: states colours in a cycle, a cell advancing to the next when at least threshold of its eight neighbours hold it. From noise it organizes into interlocking rotating spirals.

Implementations§

Source§

impl CellularFamily

Source

pub const ALL: [CellularFamily; 3]

Every family, in the order the step shader’s family index numbers them and the generated reference lists them.

Source

pub fn from_name(name: &str) -> Option<Self>

Parse the canonical [cellular] family = "..." value, or None.

Source

pub fn as_str(self) -> &'static str

The canonical name — from_name’s inverse.
