9. Test hardware matrix (what the user has)
| Machine | Validates |
|---|---|
| Primary Windows dev box | Standalone Windows path, plugin, day-to-day dev |
| Older Windows PC (iGPU) | The performance floor (§1) on baseline hardware (§2) — still a class rather than a configuration, and the reading is owed (On-device validation) |
| Arch Linux laptop (AMD iGPU + NVIDIA dGPU, PipeWire) | The Linux standalone path, live monitor capture, Vulkan on hardware and llvmpipe |
| foobar2000 (installed) | Plugin loading + visualisation_stream behavior |
There is no Mac in this matrix, and that is the point of §8’s macOS artifact. An earlier revision of this table listed a “Mac, macOS 13+” as available hardware; it is not, which is why the dev box cannot link a Mach-O binary and a macOS runner is the only build host (ADR-0038). The macOS standalone path — Metal through wgpu, ScreenCaptureKit capture, glyphon’s font loading — is therefore validated by a recipient, not in-house, and until one reports back it has never executed on Apple hardware at all.
